THE CAMBRIDGE CONNECTION Feat. Imlac + Parliament of Wolves + Harry Quinn + Emily Fraser + Sean O'hanrahan
£10 ADV £12 OTD
The Cambridge Connection consists of five acts all who have been building a name for themselves in the East of England music scene and all of which are regulars at the Cambridge Folk Festival.
Imlac is an artist who blends folk, rock and blues with unique Celtic inflections. After releasing two EPs in recent years, he has been being played on BBC radio 6, BBC1 Look East and has received glowing reviews in acclaimed publications such as R’n’R Magazine.
Sean O’hanrahan is a piano virtuoso and denizen of Cambridge. He is everyone’s go to if they need some keys, of any style or variety, but now he has taken to writing and releasing his own music and it will blow you away, like Tom Waits and Jerry lee Lewis making sweet sonorous babies together.
Emily Fraser’s songwriting talent and angelic voice come together to stop time in a way reminiscent of the likes of Joni Mitchell and Eddie Reeder. The drift of her voice is like a sea wind billowing the sails of a ship headed home.
The indie-rock of Parliament of Wolves combines wonderful songwriting with uplifting indie anthemic choruses gilded by a Radiohead style willingness with experimentation. Their songs have got them much fame in the Cambridge area and will be competing at Battle of the bands there.
Funk and folk, Harry Quinn is as jazzy and soulful as can be in his songwriting style. With a voice that modulates like the control and poise of a panther and dazzling guitar skills, you won't want to miss this budding artist.
