Arlo Indigo
Arlo Indigo is a moniker used by the Brooklyn based but Alaskan raised songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Their latest release ‘All We Can Do Is Nothing’ is a collection of apartment, not so apartment, and remote sessions written, captured, and mixed in the thick of the pandemic’s “unprecedented times” era. The ten tracks serve as a time capsule of the cheerful nihilism that occupied minds while society was brought to its fringes by the crisis. If the album had an official mantra it could be: “Well, we’re doomed, but it’s going to be okay.” In an invariable sea of ‘what could have beens’ we’ve collectively experienced, “All We Can Do Is Nothing” makes for a good companion to that couple of extra glasses of wine you drink at dinner now that you never used to.
Very Fast Car
Very Fast Car is actually 3 boys in Brooklyn, NY. You might have seen them around Bushwick. Maybe not.
Onesie
With a no rules approach to songwriting, Brooklyn, NY’s heavy power pop stalwarts Onesie have been jangling, wailing, and stomping through their own version of hits since the mid twenty -teens. As a genre bending catch-all project for timeless, obtuse guitar pop in the tradition of Rundgren, Malkmus, or Pollard, Onesie remains difficult to categorize. But, for those looking for a turbocharged testament to substance in an increasingly vapid musical landscape, here comes your band.
Couch Surfer
Couch Surfer makes short songs for short people with even shorter attention spans. Hardest working band off the Gates Avenue J
