Peter Bruntnell, Michele Stodart & Danny George Wilson: In The Round!
GBP12.00
Join us at The Sound Lounge for a unique night as three UK Americana legends come together for a special in-the-round performance on Friday April 7th from 8.30pm.
Peter Bruntnell is a tour-de-force on the Americana scene. Elevated to the highest echelons following the rapturous reception his 'Normal For Bridgewater' album received in 1999. Peter is not one to rest on his laurels; 11 albums on and he still hits all the right spots. His latest, 2021 release 'Journey To The Sun' is brimful of classics! Peter played Folk In The Park last Summer and listening to his incredible songs in the blazing sunshine was many peoples' highlight of the day. Peter was once described as "one of England's best kept secrets" by Rolling Stone magazine. They are not wrong.
Michele Stodart is just about the best bass player in the country. Fact. It's almost unfair that one person can be so talented! As members of The Magic Numbers, Michele and her brother Romeo gained a loyal following that exists to this day as their rapturous performance at Folk In The Park last Summer proved. Now with two great solo albums and a brace of 2022 singles that promise a third in the pipeline, Michele is becoming a bona fide great on the Americana scene. At the 2023 AMA Awards, folk legend Judy Collins interrupted her own speech to turn to Michelle and exclaim "You're incredible!" We agree!
Danny George Wilson is the former Grand Drive frontman, leader of Danny & The Champions of the World, a third of psychedelic rock trio Bennett, Wilson, Poole, a solo artist nominated for 'Song of the Year' at the AMA Awards 2023, co-owner of Union Records and all-round great guy! From before 1999 and up to the present day, Danny has written and sung on tracks most fans of UK Americana would think of as part of the soundtrack to their lives. Glorious and unashamedly romantic as a lyricist and with an ear for melody that can stop you in your tracks and never leave you, Danny George Wilson has a loyal following some of whom will even book holidays in Spain in order to catch a Danny and the Champs gig in Bilbao!
