Monday Michiru is a singer / songwriter who first appeared in the UK as special guest of Mondo Grosso at the height of the ‘Acid-Jazz’ Movement in the early 1990’s, for which she was one of the pioneers in Japan.
Monday has been releasing solo albums since 1991 and has collaborated with Basement Jaxx, Kyoto Jazz Massive, DJ Krush, Masters at Work, United Future Organisation, Mondo Grosso, Soul Bossa Trio and many more over her distinguished career.
Monday Michiru is the daughter of jazz pianist Toshiko Akiyoshi and jazz saxophonist Charlie Mariano. Aside from her music career, Monday has also been a successful actress, model, radio presenter and journalist.
Tonight’s special one-off concert will see Monday fly in from New York, where she now lives, to celebrate her incredible new 'ENSO' album which features guest appearances from Lew Tabackin, Ursula Rucker, Lucas Arruda and more.
