Susan Cadogan, the sweetest voice in reggae, plays a rare show at The Jazz Cafe.
With a delicate voice that shimmers between childlike innocence and smoldering sexuality, Cadogan was plucked from a church background by none other than Lee "Scratch" Perry. She shot to the top of the UK charts with her debut single 'Hurt So Good', a cover of the Millie Jackson soul classic, produced by the maverick studio man.
After seeing her first singles dominating at Notting Hill Carnival, collaborations with the likes of Ken Boothe and Bunny Clarke followed and she further cemented her position as one of Trojan Records foremost female artistes with over four decades in the industry.
Susan is still recording outstanding music with a forthcoming double album on Secret Records, “The Girl Who Cried” and a record on Mad Professor's Ariwa.
