The Comedy Shrine Presents: Brad Tassell & Patti Vazquez
$25.00
Brad Tassell has been called the most fun comic to watch in history. His act is pure joy and you can't help but come along. He's been on CMT, MTV, ESPN, he was a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent. Plus his podcast "1000 Marriage Questions" is a hit with folks who don't want to get divorced.
Patti Vasquez is a Chicago comedian, writer, actor, talk show host, consultant, and advocate. In 1996, Patti set out to pursue a career in comedy and became the first Latina to regularly headline comedy clubs across the midwest. She went on to headline comedy clubs and colleges all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe and has appeared in movies, tv, and radio. When her son Declan was born with a rare neurological disorder, Patti decided to take her communication and performance experience to launch her company "With Kind Words" in which she helps medical professionals and educators communicate with compassion. She urges them to consider the emotional readiness of every member of the team, from the health professionals to the caretakers, as they strive to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients, helping them recognize how they can incorporate compassionate communication and inspire them to do it well.
For six years, Patti was the first Latina to host her own talk show on WGN Radio. She leveraged the platform her radio show offered to help others; she made broad and deep connections with legislators and state leadership to report on issues that affect Illinois families. Patti also supported the public/private partnership between the Chicago Blackhawks’ Hockey and the Chicago Public Schools to build a custom-designed therapeutic playground for Beard Special Needs School. She has helped raise millions of dollars hosting programs that tie local establishments with community charities to foster outreach including The Epilepsy Foundation, Autism Speaks, Special Olympics, The Danny Did Foundation, JDRF, American Lung Association, Equestrian Connection, Almost Home Kids, SkyArt, ChildServ, and The Silver Lining Foundation. Patti also moderated the Northwest Side Mayoral Candidates debate in 2018.
Patti was recently honored by the National Museum of Mexican Art and The University Of Illinois for her contributions to art and advocacy work. In 2020, she ran to be the State Representative of the 19th District. She is now the Deputy Policy Advisor and healthcare and human services liaison and for Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza. Patti lives with her family on the Northwest side of Chicago and continues to advocate for her community. She is currently working with film producers on a project scheduled to start shooting in 2022.
