Tenor Madness
Modern jazz inspired by melodies and music-making of long ago: Renaissance chant and Baroque themes get a makeover from today’s musical standpoint.
Tenor Madness appearances include the Pumphouse as part of the Aldeburgh Festival, the Bedford Park Festival in West London, and at Stapleford Granary.
Ahead of their Britten-Pears Foundation Creative Retreat in November 2019, two members of Tenor Madness present their centuries-crossing concept in the intimate setting of the Green Note’s basement venue, bringing a fresh take to old themes to life with cutting-edge contemporary improvisation.
“such an innovative and thoroughly enjoyable concert”

Leading pianist, harpsichordist and composer David Gordon is partnered with double bassist, broadcaster and Academy of Ancient Music Hogwood Fellow Sandy Burnett.
