THE DARTS (US) have exploded onto the scene with a fiercely classic sound that invests deeply in late 60's garage, incorporating tones of horror-punk and garage-psych. Live, THE DARTS hurtle through songs with the reckless abandon of a freight train about to run off the rails, while their calculated musicianship sets a seamless trajectory of grooving hooks and restless boogie back beats. If Elvira and Wednesday Adams consumed the flesh of man, drank shots of snake venom, started a garage rock band, and played the bride of Frankenstein's bachelorette party, it would probably sound exactly like THE DARTS. The band formed in early 2016, after vocalist/keyboardist Nicole Laurenne (The Love Me Nots, Motobunny, Zero Zero) and bassist Christina "Madcap" Nunez (The Love Me Nots, The Madcaps) decided, following the end of The Love Me Nots, to utilize the similarities in their creative ambitions to put together the all-girl band they had been talking about for years. Tapping some of their favorite players for the project, like drummer Rikki Styxx (The Two Tens, The Dollyrots), and later Meliza Jackson (decker.), the band quickly wrote and self-released two debut EPs back-to-back. After their October 2016 EP release, the singles "Running Through Your Lies" and "Revolution" found instant radio airplay. "Take What I Need" was selected by Sirius/XM's Underground Garage channel as "The Coolest Song In The World," while infamous horror author Stephen King tweeted about the band, professing his fandom to the world. Shortly thereafter, the band signed to UK garage label Dirty Water Records, who, in 2017, released their first full length LP, Me.Ow.. THE DARTS have crisscrossed both the US and Europe constantly since, playing high-profile festivals such as Sjock Fest, Roots and Roses Fest, Down At The Nightclub Fest, Relache, and Munster Looney Fest. In June 2018, Jello Biafra's legendary punk label Alternative Tentacles Records joined forces with Laurenne's newly formed American arm of the Dirty Water, Dirty Water Records USA, to release THE DARTS first 7" record, Subsonic Dream b/w Bullet. Biafra invited THE DARTS to perform at his sold out 60th birthday show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and Jello himself performed The Dead Kennedy's classic "Halloween" on Halloween 2018, with THE DARTS backing him. The list of bands with whom The Darts have shared the stage in their brief existence is impressive, including The Damned, The Black Lips, Electric Six, King Kahn and The Shrines, The Living End, Les Lullies, The Lords of Altamonte, The Cavemen, The Dwarves, and Turbonegro. In October 2018, THE DARTS, now joined by Meliza Jackson (decker.) on guitar, undertook a nationwide tour in support of legendary UK punk band The Damned.
