SISTERS OF COMEDY
Hosted by Michelle Buteau (2 Dope Queens)
Featuring: Chanel Ali, Joyelle Johnson (Funny or Die), Chloe Hilliard (NBC Last Comic Standing), Janelle James (HBO’s Crashing ), and Special Guest Linda Sarsour Co-Founder of Women’s March!
Agunda Okeyo’s ongoing production at Caroline’s on Broadway, Sisters of Comedy, showcases a who’s who of black women in stand-up plus a few special guests like Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Gloria Steinem and Image Activist/CNN commentator Michaela Angela Davis.
Some of the amazing talent I’ve worked with include HBO's Insecure Yvonne Orji, Trainwreck’s Marina Franklin, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’s Gina Yashere, Two Dope Queen’s Phoebe Robinson, Def Comedy Jam’s Zainab Johnson, Comedy Central half hour’s Yamaneika Saunders, SNL’s Sasheer Zamata, plus many more. Sisters of Comedy at Caroline’s on Broadway is the best live show in NYC, come out and laugh!
Okeyo has been featured as a rising producer and activist in Time Out New York, New Yorker, PBS MetroFocus, Essence, The Root, Black Enterprise, The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, The New York Times and NBC. She has also produced shows at Ginny’s Supper Club and Gotham Comedy Club. In November 2016 Sisters of Comedy was part of the New York Comedy Festival.
