Best known as the bassist for Levon Helm and now The Lumineers, as well as being half of the New York-based band Lost Leaders, Byron Isaacs is also an acclaimed singer-songwriter of his own solo material, most recently featured on his album Disappearing Man. Stereo Embers wrote, "Simply put, this is a beautiful record with an easy – but rarely heard – depth." Now, in the middle of the world tour for The Lumineers' album III, Isaacs returns home for this special one-night Broadway show of his favorite songs and more recent material.
Isaacs wrote Calvary for Levon Helm's Grammy-winning album, Dirt Farmer, and cowrote songs like Heaven's Pearls for Ollabelle, the cult-favorite Americana band he founded with five friends in the early 2000s. Listen to his own album’s lead song, Losing You, to understand what Pop Matters describes when it writes, "Dark-edged Americana dominates on Disappearing Man. These are not songs populated by handclaps, soaring choruses and banjo solos. Instead, they're eerie portraits of things that show up on the porch of your psyche in the middle of the night, beaten and bloodied, leaving you unsure if you should let them in or turn them away. https://byronisaacs.com/
