FITZGERALDS SIDEBAR Presents:
The Mitch Paliga Quartet
Soprano saxophonist Mitch Paliga Quartet and his quartet will be performing original compositions and jazz standards. He has been the saxophonist since 2007 with Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. When Mitch leads his own groups, he tends to focus on his artistic musical identity, the soprano saxophone.
Mitch Paliga – soprano saxophone
Chris White – piano
Alex Austin – bass
Todd Howell – drums
“Relatively few jazz musicians take up soprano sax compared to the rest of the reed family, but Mitch Paliga is one who has mastered his instrument.”
Ken Dryden, All Music Guide, Billboard.com review
“If you’re not a fan of soprano sax playing, this album (Blithe Moments) may change some of your perceptions. The high level of musicianship, and Paliga’s composing, make the album worth listening to in any case.”
Lorelai Clarke, Jazz Review.com
“Paliga is an interesting composer but he also may be the next great voice on soprano saxophone.”
Jerome Wilson, Cadence Magazine
