Midnight High
Midnight High is an indie pop band, based out of Seattle, WA. Blending elements of 80’s synth pop and modern indie rock with strong lead vocals, lush harmonies, and modern production, Midnight High embodies a sound that is both contemporary and deeply nostalgic.
Founding members Nik Singleton and Luke Dumke conceptualized the project in 2020 with the goal of building a platform that could serve as a catalyst for artistic collaboration, community building, and shared experiences. In spring of 2020, they began the process of writing and self-producing what would become their first full-length album, “Swimming Lessons,” which is set for an August 2023 release. Since recording the album, the couple has formed a 6-piece live band and are taking to stages in Seattle and it’s surrounding areas.
The collaborative writing process for what would eventually become their debut album, Swimming Lessons, began with Luke fleshing out instrumentation and musical arrangements for Nik to then craft lyrical and melodic ideas over. The duo whittled down a compilation of demos into a collection of 10 strong songs that they deemed worthy of advancing to the recording and production phase. For help with pre production of the album, Nik and Luke then teamed up with Jessica Dobson, of Deep Sea Diver, to begin a collaborative process of refining musical ideas and arrangements. From there, they undertook the process of recording the album at the couple's recording studio, Pinehill, in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, with Luke acting as producer and engineer. While the majority of the album’s instrumentation was written and performed by Luke, with vocal performances and arrangements by Nik, the two enlisted a few friends and Seattle musicians to help contribute a touch of collaborative energy to the process. Once the recording process was complete, Andy D. Park (Now, Now, Pedro The Lion) was brought on to mix the album which was then finally passed along to Ed Books (Death Cab For Cutie, Minus The Bear) for mastering. Swimming Lessons is set for a 2023, worldwide release.

Chinese American Bear
Chinese American Bear is a quirky, retro mando pop-rock duo based in Seattle, WA creating upbeat bilingual Chinese music. Composed of Bryce Barsten and Anne Tong, the couple creates groovy, and “not too serious, food loving” tunes in their home studio together. They’ve been described as the child of Melody’s Echo Chamber, The Flaming Lips, Dusty Springfield, and Care Bear, and their live show is like “a punk show for toddlers.” The duo’s racked up over 1MM plays across platforms, and has been featured in VOGUE+ (China), praised by Lauren Laverne of BBC, DJ’s at KEXP, featured on Spotify Editorial Playlists like New in Indie, Chill Vibes, Fresh Finds Indie, Fresh Finds, Chinese Indie Picks, 組團飆歌, and 獨立最前線, along with H&M’s Official In-Store playlist, and over 10,000 third party playlists. Paste Magazine said “Their creative chemistry is what makes Chinese American Bear’s eight tracks—many of which the duo have been steadily releasing online in recent years—so vivid and imaginative. Their debut is bright-eyed and light-hearted in a way you can’t help but share.” The duo recently signed with a label in China, Japan and the UK, and plan to release their sophomore album in 2024.
